Bulimba Girl Guides Masterplan

We were engaged by Bulimba Girl Guides to prepare a masterplan for the existing Girl Guides site which sits on the perimeter of Bulimba Memorial Park.

The hut is a purpose built high set building with the lower level non habitable both due to its head-height clearance and the floor level under the minimum habitable flood level. Over the years, the parent committee made up of volunteers have tried various renovations for the site which allowed better use of the lower level, but non of which would clear the flood level. The committee needed professional input to set a direction for future works.

The masterplan looks at possibilities for the site from two distinct angles, to develop an external revenue stream to provide financial support for building maintenance and members needs and secondly to develop an approach to planning the building and alterations within the site that might facilitate improved amenity and functionality.
